I would like to request the title file to be overwritten with by this file, c:File:Syrian Civil War map (November 24, 2023).svg while still remaining protected. The reason for the requested change is that the main file does not cite any sources for the frontlines. The proposed change is based on Al Jazeera's map (external link). I would like the file to remain protected afterwards because there is a lot of edit warring regarding the situation in Syria. Ecrusized (talk) 09:54, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Requesting an increase in protection in some form due to what seems like a consistent back-and-forth series of reverts over the past year-and-a-half or so as a result of inconsistencies in the depiction of the flag's blue color. HapHaxion (talk / contribs) 16:02, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Strange. This should be blocked by the abuse filter Special:AbuseFilter/290. In the testing environment it detects the overwrites correctly but the actual filter does not work as it should. GPSLeo (talk) 20:12, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Done Reverted that file to its original colors (circa 2015), took the alternate colors and put them in a new file, locked down both files from being uploaded, and listed each in the other versions of the other. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 02:19, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
